Moving around in London
The underground (tube), bus and train networks are efficient, punctual and well organized. You can find more information at www.tfl.gov.uk.
If you use the “oyster card”, you will not pay more than 5 Pounds a day. The card can be purchased at underground stations or online at www.tfl.gov.uk, and costs 3 pounds as a deposit, but you can return the card at the end of your visit and receive your 3 pounds back.
Airports
London is well served by 4 main airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton. There are low cost operators from all these airports.
The best place to exchange money is in your home country. Avoid exchanging money at the airports. You can check exchange rates at: www.oanda.com
Banks often offer good exchange rates, thus using your credit cards or debit cards makes a lot of sense. Do not come without money; some cards may not work and you could be stranded without means.
Searching on the internet
The two best sites are: www.google.co.uk and www.yahoo.co.uk.
